Rosalie Ann, “Rosie” Weidemann, age 66, passed away on December 8, 2020 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Rosalie Ann Winkelman was born on August 24, 1954 the daughter of Bernard “Ben” and Dorothy (Mandehr) Winkelman in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in Roseville, MN where she graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School as part of the class of 1972. After high school she went to work at Dayton’s Department Store in downtown St. Paul, MN and later at a ranch in Montana.
Rosie moved to Frazee, MN in 1973 and on May 25, 1974 she was united in marriage to Dennis Weidemann at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evergreen, MN. To this union six children were born. She worked as a custodian for both the Frazee Elementary and High Schools for many years while her children were still in school. At the age of 50 Rosie decided to go back to school herself, attending Minnesota State Technical College and earning her CNA certification. She then went to work for the Frazee Care Center. Rosie also worked for Jenny-O in Detroit Lakes, MN until her retirement in 2017.
Rosie enjoyed many things in life like baking, cooking, fishing, snowmobiling, riding horses, going to the MN state fair, going to the beach, and camping. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Frazee, MN. Most of all, Rosie loved her grandchildren and would spend as much time with them as possible.
Deeply loved, Rosie’s passing will be mourned by her children Kathy (Lee) Frohman, Ben (Angie Moxley) Weidemann, John (Lisa) Weidemann, Karla (Ryan) Swanson, Luke Weidemann, Kristal (Brett) Weidemann, her ten grandchildren, Dennis Weidemann whom she was married to for 25 years, Bill Moriarty whom she was married to for five years, her siblings Ray (Nancy) Winkelman, Pete (Diane) Winkelman, John (Robert) Winkelman, and many nieces and nephews.
