Ruby was born on September 3, 1924, to Ralph and Nora (Gilbertson) Garrison in Humbolt Township near Barnesville. She was raised in the Barnesville area where she lived on several different farms. She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Juleen Dunham on April 8, 1944, in Hawley, MN. During the war years the family briefly lived in Missouri, returning to Barnesville where they later farmed for 12 years. In 1959, they moved to Dilworth, MN. In 1967, they moved to a small farm near Lake Park, where she found her joy of gardening and raising produce. Ruby moved into town in 1989 and she resided there until she entered into Sunnyside. She was a long time route carrier for the Fargo Forum. She was a member of Dilworth Lutheran Church and later Strandvik Lutheran Church and active in church circles and bible studies. She was an avid quilter, baker, and canner; she made quilts for World Relief and for many family members. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Lake Park. She had a passion for square dancing and belonged to a club that traveled to many area dances. Ruby enjoyed being the neighborhood news reporter for the Lake Park Journal. She loved to play Bingo, chauffeur her friends around, and get together and play games. Ruby loved all her family very dearly. She is survived by her children, DeWayne (Peggy) of rural Audubon, Rita (Charles) Leach of rural Glyndon, Deborah Collins of Frazee, Nora (Donald) Samelson of Fort Collins, CO, Juel (Joni) of rural Lake Park, Jay (Mary) of West Fargo, and Elizabeth Turner of rural Arpin, WI; a sister, Orpha Kunz of Barnesville; a brother, Norris Garrison of Yakima, WA; a sister-in-law, Deloris Dunham of Rothsay; a brother-in-law, Raymond Krier of Moorhead; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juleen; a son, Hal; a great granddaughter, Caylin Donovan; a great grandson, Ian Hayes; her parents, Ralph and Nora; sisters, Norma Nygaard, Celline McReynolds, Pearl Wilson; and a brother, Ralph Jr.
