Sandra "Sandy" Williams-Yasgar

Sandra “Sandy” Williams-Yasgar, of Duluth, MN, passed away  peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Chris Jensen Health in Duluth.

Sandra Lee Rock was born on May 19th, 1953 in White Earth, MN to Simon Rock Sr and Genevieve Norcross. Sandy lived in the Ponsford area until the age of 3, at that time she was moved to St. James  Children’s Home and lived there until the age of 6 , when she was adopted by Cecil and Doris Williams, of Proctor, MN. After Cecil’s death, Sandy and her mother moved to Neillsville, WI, where she  graduated from Neillsville High School with the class of 1972.  After graduating high school, Sandy gave birth to her son Dennis in 1973. A few years later daughter Jessica. After the birth of her daughter Jessica, the family moved to the Duluth area at which time she furthered her education, attending  cosmetology school. Sandy’s youngest daughter Ericca was born  in Duluth.

Sandy was a wonderful artist, she loved to draw Eagles and sketch still pictures. She was known to be a “Free Spirit” so the family enjoyed   living together in Wisconsin, Michigan, Colorado, Utah, Oregon, before returning to Duluth. Sandy’s appreciation for the beauty of the Duluth area guided her in making it her permanent home. She took pleasure in walking about her town visiting and helping others along her way.  Sandra delighted in collecting antiques, and going to the casino, but most of all, she adored spending time with her grandchildren.

Sandra is survived by her son Dennis (Dana); Daughters Jessica and Ericca; Grandchildren Tiana, Kassidy, Chris, Gavin, DeAndrea, Genevieve, Dessiere, Franklin, Skyley, Angelina, Annabell, and Aubrey; Sisters Patricia Fineday, Janice Stepenson, Beverly Gallup; Brothers Simon  Rock Jr and Aaron Rock.

Sandy is preceded in death by her biological parents and adoptive parents; brothers, Terry Rock and Marcell Rock; sisters Gail Juntenen, Paulette Rock and Phyllis Schulman.
