Sheri Felt

Sheri Lynn Felt was born March 16, 1957 in Bagley, Minnesota to Charles and Lillian (Evermoen) Newland. She was raised and educated in Minerva Township, rural Shevlin, MN and is a 1975 graduate of Bagley High School. Sheri was united in marriage to Rod Felt, August 28, 1976 in Bagley. They moved to Fargo, ND where she worked at Dakota Hospital until she started her family. They moved to Detroit Lakes, MN in 1983 where she operated a day care business until being diagnosed with cancer in 1990. She and Rod later divorced. With her cancer in remission, she worked as an aid for the Detroit Lakes Public Schools and in the St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Room while earning her LPN Degree at MSCTC in Detroit Lakes in 2006.

Sheri enjoyed being a “Nana”, spending time with her family, helping others, gardening, and the residents that she cared for.

Survivors include a Son: Zachary (Susie) Felt of Detroit Lakes; a Daughter: Rachael Felt (Aaron Gray) of Detroit Lakes; a Grandson, Caleb; her Mother: Lillian Newland of Shevlin, MN; a Sister: Beverly Newland (Doug Fredrickson) of Shevlin, MN; five Brothers: Duane of El Paso, TX,  Dean of Shevlin, MN, Donnie (Debbie) of Shevlin, MN, Dale (Denise) of Pequot Lakes, MN, Dwight (Mickey) of Shevlin, MN, and Sheri’s special friend Doug Spies of Anthon, IA.

She was preceded in death by her Dad and her Grandparents. David-Donehower Funeral Home is serving the family.
