Sheryl Knowles

Sheryl "Sheri" Knowles, 58 , of Detroit Lakes was called home to heaven on July 16, 2016 in Sanford Health, Fargo, North Dakota. Services for Sheri will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church, Rural Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 in David-Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes. Sheri was born January 31, 1958, in Little Falls, MN, to Casey and Gwen Stengl. The family moved frequently as Casey worked the pipe lines and the family joined him wherever he was, spending each winter in Detroit Lakes. Sheri finished her high school education at American School in Chicago at the age of 16. On April 14, 1974, Sheri attended a Dwayne Friend Crusade in Detroit Lakes, and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Sheri married Lloyd Knowles on December 30, 1981, at Christian Fellowship Church in Detroit Lakes with Pastor Jim Erb officiating. The couple made their home in Mahnomen, MN for 2 years where they welcomed daughter, Tiffany in 1982. The family then built their home in Detroit Lakes where they welcomed daughter, Brittany in 1986. Sheri continued her education at Northwest Technical College in Detroit Lakes where she studied accounting. Sheri battled environmental illness and throughout the years, Sheri's health continued to decline until she met a number of influential people who helped her with her healing. Sheri then studied biofeedback resonance therapy which was truly her passion. She helped a countless number of people with her therapies. Sheri loved to Worship the Lord and was an avid church goer. She attended faithfully; Lake Eunice Evangelical Free Church, the Cowboy Church and Chapel on the Hill. She was a prayer warrior for all, and family and friends were truly blessed by her fierce and voracious love of the Lord and believer in the power of prayer. Sheri enjoyed fishing with her family and the joy that is brought them. The family took several vacations together. Sheri enjoyed exploring each place they traveled to and took in everything each sight had to offer. One of her greatest loves in life were her grandchildren. She treasured the time she spent with them. Sheri was also an avid collector of pig figurines and mementos which she proudly displayed in her home. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Lloyd of Detroit Lakes; two daughters: Tiffany (JJ) Fletcher of Audubon, MN, and Brittany Knowles of Detroit Lakes, MN; six grandchildren: Christian Fletcher, Alexander Fletcher, Cocoa Knowles, Molly Fletcher, Kaber Knowles, and Baby Kingston; sister, Rhonda (Dave) Motteberg of Richwood, MN; brother-in-law, Robert (Teresa) Anderson of Callaway, MN; aunts: Mary Flath of New York Mills, MN, Lavelle Conger of Menahga, MN; uncle, Doug Conger of Perham; along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding Sheri in death were her parents; Casey and Gwen Stengl; and sister, Jacki Anderson.
