She was raised and educated in Frazee and is a graduate of
Frazee
High School
.
Following graduation, Shirley worked for Erb’s Café in Frazee.
Shirley was united in marriage to Donald “Doc” Trowbridge, February 18, 1956 in Frazee.
They made their home in Frazee until moving to
Detroit
Lakes
in 1992.
They moved to Lamplighter Manor in February, 2009.
Shirley loved time with her family, cooking and was especially known for her potato salad and she was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband, Donald “Doc” of Detroit Lakes, 3 daughters: Kim (Darwin) Samuelson of Detroit Lakes, Jody (Mark) Borgen of Audubon, MN, Kristi Anderson of Detroit Lakes; a son: Rick (Carol) Trowbridge of Moorhead, MN; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Donna Jean (David) Erb of Lowell, AR, Sharon Tarnowski of Detroit Lakes and a brother: Gayle Forsberg of
Colmesniel, TX.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jamie and her parents
