Susan Kunz

Susan Kunz, 63, of Frazee, MN, died April 9th, 2017. Susan Kunz was born January 11th, 1954 in Ada, Minnesota, the daughter of Adron and Lillian Lucille (Hellund) Garness. She grew up in Halstad, MN, and graduated in 1972. While attending Moorhead Technical School she met her husband and on August 24, 1974, Susan and Raymond Kunz were married in Halstad, MN. The couple lived in Detroit Lakes, MN, later moved to Frazee, MN. Susan worked at many places in the DL/Frazee area, mostly more than one at a time. She has worked for Kim Mollberg, CPA for over 20 years and more recently Prices Jewelers. Susan enjoyed knitting afghans, playing percussion and piano, cooking, baking kringlas, playing bingo & helping friends and family whenever needed. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her daughters, their pets & her six grand-puppies. Susan was an avid member of the Detroit Lakes All-City Band, was an active VFW Auxiliary member & had been a part of the First Lutheran Church choir. Grateful having shared her life, husband Raymond Kunz, their children Jamie Kunz (Ricky Pearson), Moorhead, Cynthia Kunz, Moorhead, Katherine Kunz, Moorhead; their dog Sissy; six grand-pups (Daisy, Penny, Frannie, Rocky, Kaia & Chuey). She is also survived by her sisters: Janice (David) Kragness, Warroad, MN, and Marylou (Paige) Will, Minneapolis, MN.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation for Susan will be Monday, April 17th, from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a 6:30 PM prayer service at David-Donehower Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, April 18th at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, MN. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to the Detroit Lakes All City Band or Minnesota All State Lutheran Choir.
