Teresa Dakota

Teresa Marie Dakota, 32, Minneapolis, MN, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 7 at St. Columba Episcopal Church in White Earth, Reverend Jackie Bernacchi, officiating. Interment will be in St. Columba Episcopal Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 PM Thursday until the time of the service at St. Columba Episcopal Church. Teresa Marie Dakota was born March 28, 1981 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Julius Hanks Sr. and Beverly Dakota. She was raised in the White Earth area and attended Ogema Elementary School and Waubun High School. She moved to Redwood Falls, MN where she worked for the Burger King and for Pizza Hut. She had recently moved to Minneapolis. Teresa enjoyed time with her "Mini-Me's" (her children), loved being on Face Book, Dream Catchers, doing people's hair, butterflies, swimming and going for walks. Survivors include her children: Devon Hanks of Ogema, MN, MaKayla Azure-Hanks of White Earth, MN, Cheyla Azure of White Earth; her parents: Julius Hanks Sr. of Ogema, MN, Beverly Dakota of White Earth; four brothers: Melvin (Melissa) Hanks of White Earth, Julius (Jessica) Hanks of Ogema, Trevor (Mariah) Hanks of White Earth and Tristin Hanks of Waubun. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Azure Jr.
