Tina Bellecourt

Tina Louise Bellecourt, age 54, of Elbow Lake, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. A funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Elbow Lake Lutheran Church, with a time of gathering beginning an hour prior. A visitation will begin at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Elbow Lake Community Center, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. David Donehower Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Tina was born, the youngest child of 15, on July 6, 1962, to David and Delia (Lague) Soyring in Detroit Lakes. She graduated from Waubun High School on 1980. She married her first love, Leonard "Buddy-Do" Bellecourt on September 14, 1985; accepting his two children as her own. Together they had two children, Valerie Louise on August 20, 1986, and Misty Jean on May 6, 1988. On April 13, 1994, they lost Buddy-Do to stomach cancer. Tina worked as a community health representative for the White Earth R.T.C. for nearly 19 years. In May of 1996, she met a wonderful man, a special friend, and her second love, Terry Sprunk; who became her life partner and father to her children.

She worked hard to support her family and was a born caregiver. She was always concerned about her family and community, and always went above and beyond to make sure her patients were safe and well. Tina was full of love, care, and compassion for her family and despite some tears, with a little patience, always made things work. Blessed be her memory. Tina is survived by her life partner, Terry; children: Angel Lea VanWert of Waubun, Tonia Jean VanWert of White Earth, Valerie Louise Bellecourt of Elbow Lake Township, and Misty Jean Bellecourt Elbow Lake Township; siblings: David (Yvonne) Soyring, Bernard (Lois) Soyring, Paul (Jen) Soyring, Gary Soyring, Norma Soyring, Elaine (Jesse) Finch, Jeanine (Mark) Conklin, Mary Burrow, Yvonne (James) Helms, and Pamela (Herman) Holt; grandchildren: Eleigha Ellen Bower, Jordan "Handsome" Bower, Elsieanna Fern Bellecourt, and Walter Cassius Allen Bellecourt. She is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy-Do; her parents, David and Delia; siblings, Dean Soyring, Linda Geodert, Richard "Rich" Soyring; nieces, Landa Jean Wichren, and Hayle "Bug" Soyring; and a nephew, Jay Helms.
