Vernette Roering

Vernette Roering, age 75, Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed January 15, 2024 in her home.  

Vernette was born June 22, 1948 in San Diego, California to Vernon and Catherine “Miki” Roering during Vernon’s service in the U.S. Military. The family moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota where Vernette was raised and attended school, graduating from Detroit Lakes high school. She attended college at Moorhead State, then moved to Minneapolis.  She worked as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Minneapolis School System and retired in 2010.

Survivors include her son, Alex (Dani) Yermolenko of Queen Creek, Arizona, and daughter, Darcy Yermolenko of Portland, Oregon; two granddaughters: Josie and Valentina Yermolenko of Queen Creek, Arizona; nephews: Jason Roering of St. Cloud, Minnesota and James (Sara) Roering of Foley, Minnesota and niece: Renee Roering of Sauk Centre, Minnesota.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John and infant sister Ellen.

The visitation for Vernette will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 12 noon to 1 PM at DAVID-DONEHOWER FUNERAL HOME (609 US HWY 10 E., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501).  A funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Father Chuck Huck, officiating. Final rest for Vernette will be spring of 2024.
