Vincent R. Lefebvre, 91, Ogema MN, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, November 9 at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, November 15 at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Ogema. Father Walter Butor, O.M.I. and Father Jerry Orsino, O.M.I., officiating. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Ogema. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. At Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The visitation will continue One hour prior to the mass at the church on Monday. Vincent Rudolph Lefebvre was born November 24, 1918 at Vergas, MN. to Emil and Mary (Nester) Lefebvre. They lived in Callaway, MN. until moving to a farm northeast of Callaway when he was 5 years old. Vince attended the country school that was 2 miles west of the farm through the 8th grade. Going to school required that he walked the 2 miles each day. Growing up he helped his dad on the farm, as they farmed with horses. He also cut pulp in the winter, worked at Johnson's Bee Company, and at a saw mill as a smelter in Montana Vince was united in marriage to Nydia Molacek on October 17, 1956 in Callaway, MN. They lived on the farm where they milked cows and farmed until their retirement in 1983. After retiring, they bought a home on Strawberry Lake in rural Ogema, where they lived for 13 years. They moved into Ogema and lived there for the next 14 years. For almost 2 years Vince has lived at Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes where he was well cared for by the wonderful staff there, and most recently, by Hospice. Vince loved to hunt and fish. Over the years, he filled many stringers with nice fish and hung many nice whitetails. He loved to tell stories about his big fish and nice bucks. Survivors include his wife, Nydia of Ogema, Four sons; Richard (Joyce) of Lake Park, MN. Ron of Nielsville, MN, Wally (Margaret) of Callaway, MN, John (Kim) of Stacey, MN; two daughters; LaVerne (Jeff) Hoban of Ogema, MN, and Barb (Mark) Hoban of Ogema, MN. One brother; Don (Gladys) Lefebvre of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sisters; Alice Lefebvre and Yvonne Meyers, both of Fillmore, CA. 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven, his parents and three sisters: Ortrude, Antoinette and Ernestine.
