Wallace D. Dorff, 83, Wahpeton, ND, formerly of rural Audubon, died Monday, March 3 at St. Francis Medical Center in Breckenridge, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, Msgr. Timothy McGee, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the mass at the church on Saturday. Wallace Donald Dorff was born February 4, 1931 in Detroit Lakes to Edwin and Amanda (Johnson) Dorff. He was raised and educated in rural Audubon. Wallace was united in marriage to Alicia Kunz, October 19, 1955 in Callaway, MN. They farmed in rural Audubon and Wallace did construction work until 1988. He then worked for Swift and Company in Frazee and for the Detroit Lakes Eagles Club until retiring in 2009. Alicia died in 2004. Wallace moved to St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND in 2012. He enjoyed time with his granddaughters, deer hunting, selling sweet corn, the people he met while selling sweet corn and playing cards. Survivors include a son, Donald (Linda) Dorff of Moorhead, MN, a daughter, Phyllis (Kraig) Kohout of Wahpeton, ND, 3 granddaughters: Betsy Dorff, Carly Kohout and Crystal Kohout, 3 sisters: Betty Branden of Hawley, MN, Darlene Goranson of Detroit Lakes and Gertrude York of Detroit Lakes. In addition to his wife, Alicia, he was preceded in death by a brother Harvey and his parent.
