Wanda Louise Blaine, 55, Detroit Lakes, formerly of Osage, MN, died Saturday, January 31, 2015
at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Wanda Louise Blaine (Waabomanikwe) was born August 19, 1959 in White Earth, MN to Melvin and
Bernice (Clark) Buckanaga. She was raised and educated in Minneapolis, MN. Following her education, she lived briefly in Oceanside, CA, returning to Minneapolis. She moved to Ponsford in the spring of 1981.
Wanda was united in marriage to Scot Blaine, August 27, 1983 in Frazee, MN. They made their home in Osage, MN where Wanda worked at the Village of the Smokey Hills, at Douglas Lodge at Itasca State Park, at the Depot in Detroit Lakes and at Casey's General Store in Detroit Lakes. She enjoyed visiting with people, spending the nights at hotels, going on vacations (especially San Diego), shopping, attending her grandchildren's activities,
having dance offs with her daughter, grandchildren and mother, having BBQ'S, playing Kittenball with the family and most of all spending time with her family. She truly had a big heart and loved everyone deeply.
Survivors include her husband, Scot of Detroit Lakes, daughter, Angela (Shane) Bellanger of Osage, MN, two
granddaughters: Mercedez and Maddisen Louise Bellanger of Osage, MN, Special Children of her Heart: Charlotte Robbins of Ponsford, MN, Tiara Buckanaga of Detroit Lakes, MN and Alaina Buckanaga of Breckenridge, MN, her Mother: Bernice Buckanaga of Mahnomen, MN, seven brothers and sisters: Patrick (Rosita) Buckanaga of
Detroit Lakes, Michael Buckanaga, Melvin Buckanaga, Evelyn Buckanaga and Diane Buckanaga of Mahnomen, MN, Roxanne (Michael) Flammond of Minneapolis, MN, Bill (Betty) Cusey of Hot Spring Arkansas and her
Mother-in-Law: Grace Blaine of Annandale, MN. Wanda is preceded into death by her father, Melvin Buckanaga, her grandparents John and Jane Buckanaga and
Clarence and Louise Clark, her Special Child of her heart, Travis "Travey" Buckanaga, uncles, aunts,
great niece, great nephew and many cousins.
