W
illiam A. “Willy” Dillon was born March 20, 1991 in
Glenwood, MN to Andria Ellis and Ralph Dillon.
He lived at the Divine House in Detroit Lakes, MN. Willy moved to the house in 2001. Willie touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with, whether in the home, at school, or in public. William was known by many and will be missed by all.
William, a student at Detroit Lakes High School, loved to be outside, ride bikes, play in the water and roll in the mud. He also liked to build things, and was skilled with his hands. If he was not doing these things, he was teasing his housemates and friends. He never let his disability stand in the way of his living. Above everything else, he was courageous and brave.
Willy is survived by two Sisters, Heather Dillon of Dent, MN and Samantha Dillon of Detroit Lakes, MN., his life long friend and cousin, Markieta Gunderson, and numerous Aunts and Uncles. He also leaves behind numerous friends from the Divine House. He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Frieda Colley and Foster Parents Margaret and Clayton Able.
At such a heart rending time, we must give thanks for the opportunity that we have had to be a part of such a tremendous person. Though Willy was taken prematurely from our lives, he will be truly missed and always remembered and loved by all those that had the opportunity to know this very special individual. So, Willy, now you are free. Walk in the clouds, fly with the birds, and dance with Elvis.
Willy, we love you and miss you.
