William P. Miller, 74, Ogema, MN, died Thursday, January 6, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, January 13,2022 at David-Donehower Funeral Home, Pastor Lauryl Ivers, officiating. Interment will be in the Fargo National Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the Lake Region Veterans Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
William Pershing Miller was born December 4, 1947 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Joseph and Josephine (Wilson) Miller. He was raised and educated in Lake Park and is a 1965 graduate of Lake Park High School. He served with the U. S. Marines 1965 – 1969. Following his discharge, he lived in Louisiana and Virginia prior to moving to rural Ogema. During his working life, he did carpentry work and house painting. Bill had his own disposal service for several years.
Bill enjoyed visiting with people, reading (especially history and westerns), tinkering and problem solving and going to Pow Wows. A stranger was a friend he had not met yet.
Survivors include his siblings: Donna (Leon) Kohler of Vergas, MN, Connie Engrebretson of Detroit Lakes, Debbie DeGroat of Audubon, Jodi Wheeler of Detroit Lakes, Alan DeGroat of Detroit Lakes, Lyle Miller of Tacoma, WA, Lowell Miller of Ashland, WI, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Frank Miller, Paul DeGroat, Beverly Lenz, Leonard Potter, Arnold Miller and Bonnie Engelking.
