William G. Norcross Jr., age 60, resident of Bemidji, MN, died February 4, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.
William George Norcross Jr. was born May 4, 1947 to William B. Sr. and Eunice (Pell) Norcross in White Earth, MN. He was raised and educated in Ponsford, MN graduating from Park Rapids High School. He was drafted into the United States Army on August 21, 1967 and served in the Tet Offensive in Vietnam. He was wounded in combat and was Honorably Discharged in March of 1969. After his military duty he worked as a mechanic at a car dealership in Minneapolis. From 1975 until 1979 he worked at the Anishinabe Long House as a counselor for inmates while they were detained and after they were released. He married Jacqueline Cameron on December 23, 1978 and they resided in Minneapolis. Starting in 1980 he drove a cab until his health permitted him from doing so. In 1998, Jacqueline and William moved to Park Rapids. In 2002, they relocated to Bemidji. William enjoyed boating, fishing, watching Nascar, football, boxing, wrestling and going to Powwows. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sporting activities.
He will be remembered and missed by his wife; Jacqueline of Bemidji, his children; Victoria and her husband Tim Janke of Akeley, MN, Michael Cameron and his wife Kathy of Menahga, MN, Scott Cameron and his wife Yvette of Owatonna, MN, Kelly and her husband Brian Charmoli of Nevis, MN, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Charles and his wife Kimberly of Champlain, MN and sister; Marlene and her husband Tim Schulman of Cass Lake, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Donald and Ronald, one sister; Mary Ann and several aunts and uncles.
