Gail Ruth Jahnke was born July 15, 1953 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Clarence and Ruth (Williams) Carrington. She had an amazing childhood growing up in Monson, Massachusetts and shared fond memories of her upbringing. In 1976, Gail moved to Minnesota and fell in love with the best man at her best friend’s wedding. On September 9, 1978 Gail was united in marriage to Kelly “Scruff” Jahnke. During her working years, she was employed as an optician at Midwest Vision Center and later Optical Eyedeas. She also worked as a PERA at the Lake Park-Audubon High School and was a health assistant at Detroit Lakes Middle School. She had a passion for working with people. In 2011, she landed her dream job becoming CEO of “Nana Daycare”, caring for her granddaughter, Kiana. She would often say she had the best retirement plan ever and that was going home to be with Jesus. Gail cherished every minute spent with her grandchildren, Ryden and Kiana. She loved being outdoors, visiting Tamarac, spending afternoons at the lake with friends, and watching Bison Football. Gail had a strong faith and was always encouraging those around her. She loved to pray for people and spent a lot of time doing so.
Gail will be remembered and remain forever in the hearts of her family which includes her husband, Kelly, two sons: Donovan, grandson Ryden, and son Christopher Scott of Palmer, MA, one daughter: Darcy and granddaughter, Kiana. She will also be fondly remembered by many extended family members and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Claire Clough.
